Wakestock is Europe’s biggest wakeboard music festival, combining the cultures of music and the world's best growing watersport in a weekend of high-octane excitement!
Wakestock began in Abersoch, North Wales back in 2000, when it was a wakeboard competition with a party in a car park for 800 people, and from then on it has grown to be one of the coolest most revered festivals in Europe playing host to some of the industries leading bands and DJ’s, along with the main wakeboard contest in Europe.
Wakestock Abersoch took place for the ninth year on the Llyn Peninsula, North Wales, the festival is divied over three stunning sites; Penrhos, Pwllheli Marina and Abersoch. Penrhos is the chief festival site overlooking Cardigan Bay and across to the Snowdonia Mountain range. Acts that have performed in the past include Feeder, Mark Ronson, Athlete, Carl Cox, Biffy Clyro, The Automatic, Kosheen, Soul II Soul, Ferry Corsten and loads more. The Wakestock line-up always features an eclectic mix of artists. The audience reflects this diversity of music styles with rock, Indie, dance, breaks, drum and bass and hip hop enthusiasts who all enjoy a weekend of live music and extreme sports fun.
The major wakeboard contest is held over at Pwllheli Marina, perfect for watching the best wakeboarders in the world going large only meters away and Abersoch Bay also showcases the wakeboarding with action from the Big Air Classic competition. Abersoch and Pwllheli are both hugely popular tourist destinations, attracting visitors from all over the UK.
